BUCYRUS, OH – Ohio Mutual Insurance Group has been recognized as one of the nation’s top 50 property & casualty insurers, according to Ward Group, one of the industry’s most respected organizations. The honor was announced today during an on-line press conference hosted by the Cincinnati-based Ward Group.

For each of the past 19 years, Ward Group has conducted a detailed financial analysis of more than 3,000 property & casualty insurers domiciled in the United States. Each year the organization identifies the top performers – naming the top 50 companies to the “Ward’s 50® Top Performers” list for the year and awarding each the “Ward’s 50” ® Seal.

Each company named to the Ward’s 50® has excelled at balancing safety, consistency, and superior financial performance over the past five years, and is then benchmarked against the industry overall. Ward Group publishes a comparative analysis each year in Ward’s Results®, an industry financial reference series, which is available from Ward Group at

“Ward Group ranks Ohio Mutual Insurance Group as one of the top performing property-casualty companies in the insurance industry,” stated Jeff Rieder, President of Ward Group. “Excellent returns and strong operating results helped make Ohio Mutual Insurance Group a top performing insurance organization. Ward Group looks at company performance over a 5 year period and Ohio Mutual Insurance Group has demonstrated the ability to maintain outstanding results over the long term.”

“This recognition comes at a time nationally when customer confidence in financial services organizations is at low ebb – to achieve this recognition and to be named with such a prestigious group of top performing companies is a valuable confirmation of Ohio Mutual’s strength and success from the premier benchmarking expert in the industry,” said Ohio Mutual President and CEO Jim Kennedy. “The credit for this recognition is shared on every level of our company, and is a great testimony to the work of our board, agents, business partners, and associates.”

Ward Group President Jeff Rieder will visit and address Ohio Mutual associates during the company’s celebration of the Ward’s 50® recognition in August.
