BUCYRUS, OH – Ohio Mutual Insurance Group will support the creation and long-term sustainability of a leadership development program in Crawford County, where the company has been headquartered since 1909.
Ohio Mutual President and CEO Jim Kennedy announced creation of “Crawford Unlimited Leadership” and the company’s $200,000 commitment to the effort today to more than 250 attendees of the local broadcast of the national Chick-fil-A Leadercast – a national leadership development effort broadcast from Atlanta to 85,000 attendees at sites across the country.
“This is a long-term investment in the infrastructure of our local community,” Kennedy said, “and in a very direct way is also a long term investment in the future of our company.”
Ohio Mutual’s financial commitment to Crawford Unlimited Leadership will be made over the next five years, through a special fund established within the Bucyrus Area Community Foundation. The leadership effort, branded as “CULead,” will be directed by David Williamson, executive director of the Crawford County Economic Development Partnership and the Crawford 20/20 Vision community development effort.
“How well we lead will determine how well our community lives and grows,” Williamson stated. “In the matter of a few years our county has begun to change because of a few committed community leaders. Now our original community supporters are being joined by citizens all across the county. The passion and commitment of Ohio Mutual Insurance Group planted the early seeds, and now through CULead it moves us to the new level of leadership development for all our citizens.”
