BUCYRUS, OH – Ohio Mutual Insurance Group is offering a reward of $10,000 for information leading to the identification and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the barn fire that killed eight horses on April 24 in McConnelsville.
The fire is the subject of an arson investigation by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio Division of Fire Marshal.
“This more than doubles the amount of reward money that has been offered in this case,” said Kevin Rall, Ohio Mutual Vice President. “As the property owner’s insurer, we would like to see those responsible held accountable for their callous and reckless actions, and hope the reward money will generate additional information that can help bring those responsible to justice.”
Reward money has also been offered by the Ohio FAIR Plan Underwriting Association ($5,000) and the Humane Society of the United States ($2,500). Ohio Mutual’s offer increases the total amount of reward money offered to $17,500.
Individuals with information in the case are encouraged to contact the Morgan County Sheriff at (740) 962-4044 or the Fire Marshal at (800) 589-2728.
