BUCYRUS, OH -- Ohio Mutual Insurance Group has named Howard "Howie" Barber to the position of Assistant Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

In his role as Assistant Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Barber will oversee Ohio Mutual's sales efforts in all seven states of operation, including supervision of the company's field sales associates and internal sales resources. The principal role of the Sales Department is to support the company's team of independent agency partners who together form the company's sole distribution channel.
Most recently, Barber has served as Regional Sales Manager for Ohio Mutual, after an extensive insurance career spanning three decades with Westfield Insurance, Providence Washington Insurance Company, and Shelby Insurance. A graduate of Bowling Green State University with a degree in Business Administration, Barber is also a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
Barber lives in Shelby, OH with his wife Marty, where he has previously served as a member of the school board and as a director for the local YMCA. They have three children -- ages 25, 22, and 20.
