BUCYRUS, OH—Ohio Mutual President & CEO Mark C. Russell announced today that Ryan Ward, FCAS, has been promoted to AVP – Actuarial Analytics within the Business Analytics Department. Ward will report to VP & Chief Analytics Officer Susan Kent.
After earning a B.S. in Mathematics from Ohio University in 2011, majoring in Actuarial Science and minoring in Business Administration, Ward joined Ohio Mutual as a personal lines underwriter before advancing to Actuarial Analyst roles at both Ohio Mutual and American Modern Insurance Co. Ryan returned to Ohio Mutual as an Associate Actuary in 2019, and was promoted to Actuarial Manager in 2022, the same year he obtained his Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
“In his progressively advancing roles, Ryan has delivered strong thought and team leadership on many key pricing and analytic initiatives, and has positively impacted all of our lines of business,” said Russell.
In his new role, Ward will primarily manage the organization’s rate review process, including the calculation of rate indications and rate impacts, in addition to the development of new products, rating plan changes, and other responsibilities.
“Ryan’s exceptional analytical skills, actuarial knowledge and collaborative style have been invaluable to both our team and our company,” said Kent, “and we look forward to his continued contributions in this new role.”
Ryan currently lives in Shelby, OH with his wife and two children.
