BUCYRUS, OH – Insurance rating organization A.M. Best has issued its annual rating of Ohio Mutual’s financial strength, reaffirming its issuer credit rating (ICR) of “a+”, as well as the company’s financial strength rating (FSR) of “A” (Excellent) for the 25th consecutive year.

Included in the ratings are the three companies included in the OMIG intercompany pool: Ohio-domiciled Ohio Mutual Insurance Company, its wholly owned subsidiary United Ohio Insurance Company, and Maine-domiciled Casco Indemnity Company.

A.M. Best’s rating rationale states:

“OMIG’s positive rating factors are derived from its modest underwriting leverage, conservative investment risk profile, and solid regional market presence. Long-standing agency relationships are maintained with its distribution network of independent agents who share common values of profitable underwriting, commitment to service and product development initiatives.”

“We are pleased and grateful to receive this reaffirmation of our financial strength and operational excellence from A.M. Best,” said the company’s President & CEO Mark C. Russell. “Our agent partners, associates, and mutual policyholders have all contributed in their own way to this positive result. While we operate in a competitive and challenging business environment, we will continue building on our strong foundation by pursuing market-leading loyalty from our policyholders.”
