Current AVP-Actuarial Analytics Ryan Ward to Assume Position July 3
BUCYRUS, OH – Ohio Mutual VP & Chief Analytics Officer Susan Kent has announced her plan to retire from the company effective July 3. President & CEO Mark C. Russell announced today that upon Kent’s retirement, current AVP-Actuarial Analytics Ryan Ward will assume the role of VP Actuarial and Product Management for Ohio Mutual.

She has strengthened our organization through her insight, integrity, and deep commitment to our people and mission. We are grateful for her years of service and the lasting legacy she leaves with Ohio Mutual.”
Kent joined Ohio Mutual as VP, Chief Analytics Officer in February 2016 having served previously at Nationwide Insurance and Shelby Insurance Companies. Kent is a graduate of the College of Wooster and earned a Master of Science from the University of Michigan. She is currently volunteering as VP, Casualty for the American Academy of Actuaries and has been nominated to be the next President-Elect. She is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and is certified as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).

Ryan returned to Ohio Mutual in 2019 after previously spending 4.5 years with the company in various data reporting and pricing roles and three years at American Modern Insurance Group, where he worked in actuarial and innovation positions. Since returning to Ohio Mutual, he has served in a variety of actuarial leadership roles. Ward is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). He earned a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Ohio University in Athens, OH in 2011.
